GENERAL

  • PurePlank floors are exclusively sold at Rona and Rona+ stores.

  • Yes, visit Rona stores to find matching mouldings.

TECHNICAL

  • PurePlank is a hybrid between vinyl and laminate flooring. Thanks to its hybrid technology, it offers better water resistance than traditional laminate flooring (up to 96 hours), while not being completely waterproof like vinyl flooring.

  • PurePlank are finished with a DurAlOx® SupperMatt UV cured polyurethane finish that contains aluminum oxide for enhanced scratch and wear resistance.

  • GreenGuard® Gold, FloorScore® & Carb-2.

  • All PurePlank products are 100% formaldehyde-free and meet and exceed the health and safety standards for Canada, USA & Europe.

INSTALLATION

  • No, PurePlank floors are only intended for indoor installations.

  • Yes, hybrid-core planks will naturally contract and expand slightly from daily and seasonal temperature fluctuations. A 10mm (3/8”) expansion gap is required to allow the floor to float freely. The floor must not touch any fixed obstructions.

  • Cabinets and islands should not be installed on top of PurePlank, and heavy appliances aren't recommended either, the floor needs room to expand and contract with seasonal temperature changes. Install the floor up to the appliance's front support legs/feet.

  • No, using a second under-pad causes excessive deflection and movement in the floor, which damages the locking system and can break the profiles. It can also cause planks to unlock, leaving gaps in the floor.

  • Yes, but the existing floor must be smooth and flat. Over tile or stone, grout lines don't need filling, but any broken tiles should be glued or patched. Follow the steps in the installation guide.

  • Our floors can be installed directly over a concrete slab, though in basements a 6 mil poly vapour barrier must first be laid down to block moisture rising from the concrete. Most slabs aren't perfectly flat, the surface must be checked for level and any low spots corrected with a self-leveling cementitious compound before installation.

  • Yes, two general types of systems are approved:

    • Circulating warm water

    • Imbedded (in cement) electric systems.

    The system temperature must not exceed 28°C or 82°F.

  • Yes, follow all recommendations in the PurePlank installation guide, as well as the installation guide of the panel manufacturer.

  • Yes, follow all the requirements noted in the installation guide:

    o The floor must be glued directly to the wooden sub-floor (plywood or OSB) or concrete.

    o Use one of the following approved vinyl floor adhesives and follow all of their instructions:

    • TAYLOR Signature Series Dynamic 2098

    • TAYLOR 2091 Tuff-Grip: Transitional adhesive, it is releasable for 2-3 days then permanent

    • TAYLOR MS+ Resilient: Permanent

    • MAPEI ECO-399: When wet lay it is permanent; Dry lay is releasable

    • MAPEI Ultrabond ECO 810: Wet lay it is permanent; dry lay it is pressure sensitive

    • DRITAC 5000 Firm Set: Pressure sensitive

    • DRITAC ECO-5500: Pressure sensitive

    • TEC Vinyl Composition Tile Adhesive #7047495023

  • Yes, PurePlank is suitable for installation in bathrooms. However, in environments with particularly high moisture levels (such as frequent use of the bathtub or shower, large families, or bathing pets), it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to standing water and to maintain proper ventilation to help ensure the long-term performance and durability of the flooring.

  • Yes, however, the flooring needs to be glued down, use one of the adhesives listed in the installation guide. The temperature must not exceed the following temperature range on a year-round basis: 0°F to 90°F (-18°C to 32°C).

  • Yes, they are approved for installation in light commercial and office applications. The floor must be glued down since the traffic volume and performance demands of the floor are more intensive.

  • We recommend using T-mouldings between rooms. If the distance exceeds 60 feet (18 m) in length or 30 feet (9 m) in width, separate the areas using a T-moulding or install the product by glue-down method as indicated in the installation guide.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Use a hardwood/vinyl floor cleaner such as BONA® or SWIFFER®, or a similar non-surfactant cleaner. Avoid other floor cleaners, they can leave a residual film that dulls the finish.

  • DO NOT use abrasive products, bathroom cleaning products, ammonia based products, wax based polishes/cleaners, acrylic finishes, acidic or vinegar based solutions, oil soaps, detergents, chlorine based products, bleach, solvents or any type or polishes. The use of these products may permanently damage the finish of your floor and may void the warranty.
